The R3 that gave Chris back the smile he hid for five years.
For years Chris was too embarrassed to smile. Crowded bottom teeth, a snaggletooth and a gap, and the only fix anyone offered started at five grand. So he wore a flat $80 mouthguard to bed and photographed it every month to see if it was doing anything. It was. Then things he never connected to his mouth started changing too.

The photos people keep calling fake
Different angles. Each one showing a different piece of it. Left is before, right is 6.5 months. Individual experience, not typical results.

Then things I never connected to my mouth started changing
"I came for the teeth. Over 6½ months, here's what else shifted."
Breathing opened up
For 3-4 years I couldn't take a full, clear deep breath. That went away fast. My nostrils actually look wider now. (I have the photos.)
I sleep like a different person
Deeper. And I wake up less wrecked.
The floaters cleared up
I'd had them constantly. Didn't expect a mouthguard to touch that.
My ears eased off
The eustachian tube dysfunction, that clogged-ear feeling I'd lived with, eased off significantly.
The chin cramps stopped
The muscle cramps under my chin that used to hit out of nowhere, gone.
My posture improved
Not something I was even tracking. It just did.

The R3, the flat-plane guard behind it
Worn while you sleep
Overnight, plus a few daytime hours if you want to move faster. No routine to learn.
Gentle, steady pressure
The flat-plane design supports the jaw without locking your bite, so it can settle where it should.
Ready out of the case
Premium soft silicone, food-grade tested. No boiling, no moulding. Backed by a 1-year warranty.
Three steps. All of them easy.
Take it out of the box and wash it
Wear it to sleep and 2–3 hours during the day
Wash it and let it dry
I'll be straight about the first two weeks
It's a big block of rubber. And your mouth does not want it there at first. I woke up in the night from it more than once early on.
That's the point where most people would quit. So know it's coming. Push through it, and it stops being a thing.
Everything above happened after that.
Confused about size? Measure your width.
One measurement decides it: the width across your back molars.

Width · molar to molar
| Size | Width, molar to molar |
|---|---|
| Medium | 50 mm or less |
| Large | 51 to 56 mm |
| XL | 57 mm or more |
Tips: use a crisp, firm apple, make sure your teeth are clean and dry, press down evenly, and measure carefully in millimetres. No apple? Cut a piece of cardboard to the shape of your upper arch, or measure the width of a current retainer.
$80 (or 4× $20). Not $5,000.
"I was looking at four-to-seven grand, plus years of appointments, just to fix my teeth."
Braces
$3,000–7,000
Oral-B's own estimate. Plus years of appointments.
Invisalign
$4,000–7,400
Still four figures, still a long haul.
The R3
$80 (or 4× $20)
One time. Shipped to your door. "That math is most of why I tried it."
Consistency is the whole game
- Weeks 1-2: the adjustment phase. A little soreness or extra saliva is normal, your soft tissue is adapting, not a sign anything's wrong.
- Build up gradually: shorter daytime sessions first, then overnights. Ease off for a bit if it ever gets sharp.
- Over the months: the changes Chris talks about came from wearing it consistently, not from wearing it harder.

Questions, answered
Is this going to fix my teeth like braces? ›
I'm not a dentist and I'm not promising you my results. I'm showing you what happened to me over 6½ months of wearing it. Decide for yourself from the photos.
Does it hurt? ›
Uncomfortable for the first couple weeks, then you stop noticing it. See the note above about the first two weeks.
How long until I see anything? ›
I took a photo a month so I could actually tell. Mine was gradual. This isn't an overnight thing.
What size do I get? ›
Use the sizing guide above. Width matters most, measure the outer edges of your upper molars at their widest point (there's a size guide video too). Medium is 50 mm or less, Large is 51 to 56 mm, and XL is 57 mm or more.
How should I start? ›
Wearing it: the standard pattern is overnight plus 2 to 3 hours during the day. Build up gradually with shorter daytime intervals first. The early phase is the hardest and gets much easier after a few weeks.
Early discomfort: sore teeth, achy gums and extra saliva in the first weeks are the soft tissue adjusting, not a problem. Take breaks if it gets sharp, don't push through pain.
Faster results: consistency first, then simple stretches like Bite and Hold alongside the guard.
Why does it work? ›
Think of the soft tissue over the skull like a balloon. Grinding your teeth down deflates it over time, what we tend to call "aging." Adding height back with gentle, consistent pressure runs the same physics in reverse.
How many people have done this? ›
Over 30,000 people have started using Reviv appliances and this method.
What is it made of, and what's included? ›
