She bought it for the grinding. The jawline was the part she wasn't expecting.
The problem. She is a nighttime grinder. She woke up clenching, with that tight sore feeling in her jaw and headaches to go with it, and her jaw was never actually getting to relax.
What she'd tried. Bulky night guards she hated sleeping in, and a custom guard her dentist wanted to charge for that she didn't want to pay.
The switch. The R3. Soft, flexible, flat silicone. No boiling, no moulding, nothing to learn. She puts it in and goes to sleep.
The part she didn't expect. Her lower face started looking less tense. "I genuinely wasn't expecting this, because I didn't even get the R3 for my jawline."

How did the R3 help Alejandra?
The three changes she comes back to most. Her experience, not a promise.
Her jaw finally gets a break
Instead of eight hours of clenching, the guard cushions her teeth and her jaw stops working overtime. "Instead of waking up feeling like I've been clenching all night, the jaw finally gets a chance to relax."
Better nights, quieter mornings
Fewer of the headaches and that tight sore jaw she used to wake up with. She is also a mouth breather. "It helps me keep my mouth closed and breathe through my nose while I'm sleeping."
The change she wasn't after
She bought it for the grinding, then noticed her lower face looked less tense. "My jaw looks more relaxed, more balanced, and my jawline just looks better." Her experience over weeks of nightly wear, not a promise.
Three steps. All of them easy.
Take it out of the box and wash it
Wear it to sleep and 2–3 hours during the day
Wash it and let it dry
Confused about size? Measure your width.
One measurement decides it: the width across your back molars.

Width · molar to molar
| Size | Width, molar to molar |
|---|---|
| Medium | 50 mm or less |
| Large | 51 to 56 mm |
| XL | 57 mm or more |
Tips: use a crisp, firm apple, make sure your teeth are clean and dry, press down evenly, and measure carefully in millimetres. No apple? Cut a piece of cardboard to the shape of your upper arch, or measure the width of a current retainer.
Need help on how to measure?
Watch how to measure your palate size with the simple bite-and-bread method:
Consistency is the whole game
- Weeks 1-2: the adjustment phase. A little soreness or extra saliva is normal, your soft tissue is adapting, not a sign anything's wrong.
- Build up gradually: shorter daytime sessions first, then overnights. Ease off for a bit if it ever gets sharp.
- Over the weeks: the changes Alejandra talks about, a calmer jaw and quieter mornings, came from wearing it every night, not from wearing it harder. The jawline difference she shows is her own experience, not a promise.
What people say about the R3
Questions, answered
How should I start? ›
Wearing it: the standard pattern is overnight plus 2 to 3 hours during the day. Build up gradually with shorter daytime intervals first. The early phase is the hardest and gets much easier after a few weeks.
Early discomfort: sore teeth, achy gums and extra saliva in the first weeks are the soft tissue adjusting, not a problem. Take breaks if it gets sharp, don't push through pain.
Faster results: consistency first, then simple stretches like Bite and Hold alongside the guard.
How does sizing work? ›
Width matters most. Measure the outer edges of your upper molars at their widest point, shown in this size guide.
Medium (46mm) fits teens and smaller mouths, Large (53.6mm) fits most adults, and XL (59.6mm) is for larger mouths.
Why does it work? ›
Think of the soft tissue over the skull like a balloon. Grinding your teeth down deflates it over time, what we tend to call "aging." Adding height back with gentle, consistent pressure runs the same physics in reverse.
How many people have done this? ›
Over 30,000 people have started using Reviv appliances and this method.
