"This is the least amount of pain I've been in in three years." Laura swapped thousands in hard acrylic splints for an ¥12,900 R3.
The problem. Three years of TMJ and chronic jaw pain. "I'm a clencher." She didn't know your teeth aren't supposed to touch unless you're eating.
What she tried. Thousands of dollars of hard acrylic appliances from her orthodontist. Daytime ones, nighttime ones, ones for driving. "I could still grind, I could still clench through the night." Most mornings they had ended up across the room.
The switch. The R3. Soft, flexible, one piece for both rows of teeth, ready out of the case. "Why didn't I think of this sooner?"
Her routine. Every night, at the computer and in the car. Between times it lives in its case in her purse. Her experience, not a promise.

Three times her jaw tightens up
"My orthodontist always told me the three most common times when you clench your jaw and grind your teeth." Laura wears the R3 for all three. Her experience, not a promise.
- 1
While she sleeps
Every night. "It doesn't end up halfway across my room in the morning."
- 2
At the computer
"I wear it when I'm on the computer."
- 3
While she drives
"The relaxation that it causes in my jaw." The rest of the day it stays in its case in her purse.
The R3, the guard Laura wears day and night

Overnight, plus a few daytime hours if you want to move faster. No routine to learn.
Gentle, steady pressure

Ready out of the case
Premium flat silicone, food-grade tested. Ready out of the box, nothing to prepare. Backed by a 1-year warranty.
How did the R3 help Laura?
What she comes back to in every clip. Her experience, not a promise.
Less jaw pain
A few weeks in: "This is the least amount of pain I've been in in three years."
Soft enough to keep in
"It's soft. It's flexible." Unlike her acrylic splints, it is still in when she wakes up.
One piece, both rows
Her old uppers and lowers let her keep clenching. "Keeps upper and lower teeth where they're supposed to be."
Three steps. All of them easy.
Take it out of the box and wash it
Wear it to sleep and 2–3 hours during the day
Wash it and let it dry
Confused about size? Measure your width.
One measurement decides it: the width across your back molars.

Width · molar to molar
| Size | Width, molar to molar |
|---|---|
| Medium | 50 to 62 mm |
| Large | 63 to 72.4 mm |
| XL | 72.5 mm or more |
Tips: use a crisp, firm apple, make sure your teeth are clean and dry, press down evenly, and measure carefully in millimetres. No apple? Cut a piece of cardboard to the shape of your upper arch, or measure the width of a current retainer.
Need help on how to measure?
Watch how to measure your palate size with the simple bite-and-bread method:
Consistency is the whole game
- Weeks 1-2: the adjustment phase. A little soreness or extra saliva is normal, your soft tissue is adapting, not a sign anything's wrong.
- Build up gradually: shorter daytime sessions first, then overnights. Ease off for a bit if it ever gets sharp.
- Over the weeks: Laura talks about less jaw pain within the first month, from wearing it every night and through the day, not from wearing it harder. What she describes is her own experience, not a promise.
What people say about the R3
Questions, answered
How should I start? ›
Wearing it: the standard pattern is overnight plus 2 to 3 hours during the day. Build up gradually with shorter daytime intervals first. The early phase is the hardest and gets much easier after a few weeks.
Early discomfort: sore teeth, achy gums and extra saliva in the first weeks are the soft tissue adjusting, not a problem. Take breaks if it gets sharp, don't push through pain.
Faster results: consistency first, then simple stretches like Bite and Hold alongside the guard.
How does sizing work? ›
Width matters most. Measure the outer edges of your upper molars at their widest point, shown in this size guide.
Medium fits a width of 50 to 62 mm, Large fits 63 to 72.4 mm, and XL is for 72.5 mm or more.
Why does it work? ›
Think of the soft tissue over the skull like a balloon. Grinding your teeth down deflates it over time, what we tend to call "aging." Adding height back with gentle, consistent pressure runs the same physics in reverse.
How many people have done this? ›
Over 30,000 people have started using Reviv appliances and this method.
What is it made of, and what's included? ›
